Melatonin and cancer treatment

New publication: Sanchez et al. present an overview of the evidence regarding melatonin use in breast cancer (1). They note several proposed mechanisms of antiproliferative activity of melatonin based on laboratory and animal research, including down-regulation of pituitary and gonadal hormones, anti-estrogenic effects, inhibition of cell surface adhesion molecules, and other effects on the cell cycle. They note that this research is preliminary, but may merit further pre-clinical investigation. An abstract of this article is below.
