FDA Public Health Advisory: Life-Threatening Side Effects with the Use of Skin Products Containing Numbing Ingredients for Cosmetic Procedures

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released an advisory to consumers and healthcare professionals regarding the potential hazards of using skin numbing products containing topical anesthetic drugs such as lidocaine, tetracaine, benzocaine and prilocaine in a cream, ointment or gel.
