Australasian Integrative Medicine Association Conference

The Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA) will be hosting its 18th International Integrative Medicine Conference, titled "Bridging the Gap," at the Hilton On The Park in Melbourne, Australia on August 31-September 2, 2012.

The conference will highlight the AIMA's goal to achieve true integration between mainstream medicine and complementary therapies in order to achieve optimal outcomes.

Keynote speakers will include:

Assoc Prof Kerry Bone, co-founder, Director of Research and Development and innovation driver at MediHerb

Dr. Lesley Braun, a qualified Pharmacist, Naturopath and Research Fellow of the Department of Surgery, Monash University and lecturer, Monash University and RMIT

Prof Marc Cohen, Professor and founding Head of the Department of Complementary Medicine at RMIT University, immediate past President of AIMA and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow with the Monash Institute of Health Sciences Research

Dr Gary Deed, Medical Director of Mediwell Coorparoo in Brisbane, a multidisciplinary practice

Dr. Petrea King, a naturopath and yoga and meditation teacher

Dr. Lisa Matriste, Director, Australians for Mercury Free Dentistry

Dr Beatrice Milbert, an integrative doctor who originally specialized in infectious diseases and tropical medicine, later homeopathy, acupuncture and electromagnetic wave therapy

Bharat Mitra (Yoav Lev), President & Founder of ORGANIC INDIA

John Perrin, a mindfulness-based psychotherapist with more than 15 years experience in private practice

Prof Kerryn Phelps AO, President of the AIMA

Dr Timothy J Sharp, has three degrees in psychology (including a Ph.D.) and a record as an academic, clinician and coach

Dr Lily Tomas, an integrative GP, the VP of AIMA, member of the Australia/NZ Medical Advisory Board for the MINDD Foundation and editor of the Journal of Integrative Medicine

Assoc Prof Dr Luis Vitetta, Director of the Centre for Integrative Clinical and Molecular Medicine, University of Queensland, School of Medicine
