Resveratrol Improves Hormone Levels in Women with PCOS

A new clinical trial shows that taking resveratrol 1500 mg daily for 3 months significantly reduces testosterone levels by 23.1% in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition associated with an overproduction of androgenic hormones, infertility, and diabetes. Testosterone levels increased by 2.9% for women taking placebo. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) levels were significantly reduced by 22.2% and insulin levels by 31.8%.
